“ You are meant to shine in a way only YOU can. You were born to manifest all the unique brilliance inside you. And as you let your light shine bright, you subconsciously give others permission to do the same. As you are liberated from your own fear of standing out, your presence automatically liberates those around you too."

2013 has gone by so fast and I plan on sending it out on a high note with all my many blessings. Knowing who I am and vhat I value during this busy holiday season is particularly important for me. I have also decided to continue to "LET IT GO" and not let the stresses of the season get to me. Things always have a way of working out, decorations get up, Christmas cards do get sent (or not), but the time you have with family and friends is the most valuable. Make time for YOU too! Let's get this party started! Bring on December 2013!
"Remember the good times, be strong during tough times, love always, laugh often, live honestly, and be thankful for each new day."

"Everything will fall into place eventually. Until then, learn what you can, laugh often, live for the moments, and know it’s all worthwhile."
I have felt inspired of late but time has not been on my side. Any chance I get I am digging out that "Let it Go" Journal and just getting my ideas down. This has led to greater inspiration for Mixed Media Mondays and really been good for my soul. I want to share the latest pages.....
I am finding inspiration all around and enjoying the creative process which I will share here:
Even getting in the holiday spirit with my watercolors....
I feel inspired. I feel open to just trying new things and Letting it Go. This past Monday's Mixed Media was based on one simple piece I saw on Facebook......
Every page is different..........this is what makes me happy and puts me into my work. Every week I see Artists using an element from our Mixed Media Monday's and putting their personality into it. You are different than everyone around you. So often we become caught up in what other's are doing or how they are doing things instead of listening to ourselves and what is best for us. That goes for work, kids, life, art, etc. I know where I get great joy; with my kids, friends, my Studio, walking, volunteering (yes, even 6th grade camp stuff is fulfilling) and more. This is what lights me up!
So in this journal I am ME. I am enjoying that person. Some pages are great...some not so great but they from me. Time to be You-er than YOU!. TGIF and have a great weekend!
"Love yourself! Forgive yourself! Accept yourself! You are YOU and that’s the beginning and the end - no apologies, no regrets."
This Mixed Media Monday was so relaxing in my Studio! I enjoyed every bit of the page we created. This painting was inspired by my "Let It Go" Journal so fun to pull from ideas that I am playing around with. Here is the 11 X 14 I painted LIVE.....
What became more fun about this page was just doodling the border and knowing when to stop. I thank everyone who particpated in that and to Carole for providing our quote. It really was relaxing to just stop and paint with you all. Loving the details:
Remember to join the Facebook Group HERE and share your projects! I am off next Thursdsay to celebrate Thanksgiving week with my family! I hope everyone has an awesome week and plan on a month full of Monday's in December to create, relax and get ready for our holidays!!
“Say what you need to say. Speak your truth. There is no greater sadness than holding on to the words you never had the courage to speak."
Mixed Media's Theme was all about emracing yourself as an Artist. I saw a post on Facebook with this quote:
It reminded me that sometimes it is hard to Embrace those titles but why limit yourself by not claiming it. We are all creative in SO many ways. So tonight we embrace that Title but do not let it limit us. We let it launch us! and here is the 11 X 15 I painted from that.....
MATERIALS LIST: Journal - Strathmore Mixed Media Vellum Surface Windpower, Paints & Gesso - DecoArt (Americana - Graphite, Irish Moss, Yellow Green & White Wash), Inks: Dr Ph Martn's & Daler Rowney, Maskig Tape, Pens: Uniball Signo & Sharpie, Mists, Heidi Swapp & Lindy's Stamp Gang, and Pan Pastels
That page just needed one more thing and I had no idea it was going to be for the BLACK India Ink to explode right out of the dropper! So into creative recovery mode I went and what came of this page was a "good mishap" to quote one of our Moderators Mary......PHEW!
I always say there is a fix for everything but Black India Ink does have a way of stopping your heart for a brief second!
Remember to join the Facebook Group HERE and share your projects! I am assigning EVERYONE this week to embrace and do an "I AM AN ARTIST" page so I can share on my blog. Embrace that ARTISTIC YOU! This is a creative journey we walk together. ♥ See you Next MONDAY!
“You can’t always wait for the perfect moment. Sometimes you must dare to do it because life is too short to regret and wonder what could have been."
Every page has an emotion and tells the story of where I was that day or how I was feeling. It reminds me of this crazy little journey we call life and I am happy to get to share it with so many! So from start to finish I THANK EVERYONE who was part of it. May you have been inspired by a few elements from these pages. Thank you to the companies that sponsor me such as DecoArt for your vast array of colors and Strathmore for your amazing paper and entrusting me to paint something pretty on each page. I look forward to the next journal I crack open!
"It’s the process of following your path that’s important, not the speed at which you progress down it. Happiness is found during the journey, not at the destination. Slow down so you can appreciate the forest for each of its trees. You have a better chance of truly seeing where you are when you stop spending every waking moment trying to get somewhere else. Take the time to celebrate the goodness surrounding you and how far you’ve come, rather than focusing exclusively of what’s still left to be done."
Thank you to all who submitted and took the October Creative Dare! Once again the submissions were awesome! Our random October Winner is Amanda Corbet! Amanda please email your address to [email protected] to claim your Grumbacher prize!
November's Creative Dare is about Gratitude and color! I challenge you to pick a color palette and share that palette with your project. You could list the things you are grateful for, a favorite quote about gratitude or anything that reflects your thanfulness. We talked about this LIVE on Monday and yesterday I shared my "Gratitude" page:
Here was the one I used from DecoArt Americana Paints:
Here is another great one for Fall:
To submit just upload your layouts below "ADD YOUR LINK"! If you do not have a blog to link to don't worry! You can still upload to Flicker HERE and link from there too!
I am excited to announce that our OFFICIAL SPONSOR FOR October is Strathmore!!
For more information on Strathmore check them out here:
Enjoy this month of Gratitude and be in that habit of waking up and reminding yourself what you are Thankful for. I for one am thankful for this creative path I am on that I get to share with SO many amazing people. For that I am blessed....
"Gratitude is a powerful process for shifting your energy and bringing more of whatyou want into your life. Be grateful for what you already have and you will attract more good things. "
All November I am coming from a place of Gratitude. Sometimes we lose sight of that and in this month of Thanksgiving it is a reminder to us all. I am ever so thankful I started that "Let it Go" Journal last weekend that I shared yesterday. This is my "practice what I preach" journal where I am going to just play and release. So yesterday morning here was the page I quickly created which became my concept for last night's Mixed Media Monday:
This page just felt right from start to finishing all the little details....
Remember to join the Facebook Group HERE and share your projects! This week our official November Creative Dare will be announced. Our theme is Gratitude and I will be ever so mindful of that this month as we bring in Thanksgiving and my family. I am grateful for every Monday night I share with you all and the days that follow where you share your work inspired from this one little night. Today I start my day with a smile, calmness of mind, coolness of emotions and a heart filled with Gratitude from Mixed Media Monday ♥
“To be upset about what you don’t have is always a waste of what you do have. The happiest and most successful people aren’t the luckiest, and they usually don’t have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes their way. The reason so many people give up is because they tend to look at what’s missing, and how far they still have to go, instead of what’s present, and how far they have come."
I LOVE when I log in the next morning and see posts like this:
Sandy: "So I painted after watching Tracy today I actually selected my colours while watching her paint.. I had planned on using my new stencils I received for my birthday so this was perfect for what I had planned for today.. So Tracy said to let it go so I did and just went with what she had done.. Tracy dared us to make something with one of her selected colour schemes and to put on the page something with gratitude.. Well I am grateful to Tracy for showing me the world of mixed media and watercolour. I would not be doing any of this if it was not for the weekly lessons on ustream. So the quote on my page is. "At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us". Thanks Tracy for lighting that flame.."
