Christmas could not have been more perfect. It was all about keeping it simple and just taking in the moments this week. As the kids get older I miss those traditions of running myself ragged with Santa footprints, cookies, gingerbread houses, etc. but we just did not have the time. It was more about the moments and being together which I loved (and it was way easier on Mom).
11 pm Church on Christmas Eve..........
Since we returned from Church after midnight the kiddos decided it was cool Santa came so we opened gifts at 1 am and opted for the Christmas day sleep in (woo hoo!)
Best moment was Grandma making sub sandwiches at 1:30 am. She had her own delicatessen going.
The gifts were less in quantity but greater in cost. Lots of electronics were seen around here...
The kiddos were sweet and I got nice cards and meaningful gifts from them. Tyler got his coveted Iphone, Micky got a Samsung tablet and Joey was thrilled with new video games and cash to "spruce up his wardrobe".
This Momma was happy to spend Sunday morning in bed, reading her annual Christmas book from my parents and just be........
Then off to a nice brunch and Christmas dinner home. In my world that is bliss...I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and remember the reason for the season. Blessed.
"You’re not the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or a week ago. You’re always growing. Experiences don’t stop. That’s life. Sometimes there are things in our lives that aren’t meant to stay. Sometimes the changes we don’t want are the changes we need to grow. Growth and change may be painful sometimes, but nothing in life is as painful as staying stuck where you don’t belong. The bottom line is that you can’t reach for anything new if you’re holding onto yesterday. You may think holding on makes you strong, but often it is letting go and starting anew in the present."
So glad you had a great Christmas. Looking forward to getting back on a artistic routine next year. I am in the middle of a scrapbooking project of a 90th birthday book for my mom. enjoying it but would much rather be mixed media painting.
Happy New year and See you Monday Night
