What started as a simple trip to the River last weekend took a turn in the opposite direction that I never expected in a million years. It was a Pinch Me kind of weekend. Due to inclement weather my relaxing weekend at the River turned into a trip to the Central Coast of California! AND...........was a mark off one of the biggest items on my Life List...a Trip to Hearst Castle.
There were tears in my eyes as we took the bus ride up the mountain to this glorious and most wonderful sight. There are almost no words to describe it but it was far more incredible than I had ever imagined.
We took a tour through many of the rooms including the Library and in every room my camera was snapping and I was in awe.
and the pools......
Here is a complete photo recap of my experience HERE.....
This trip confirmed to me that dreams come true and this very dream was mine to experience. I loved exploring every place and seeing what this amazing man, William Randolph Hearst and his FEMALE architect, Julia Morgan created over 30 years. They had a great video on the construction of the Castle and how Hearst made his dream a reality to share with others.
I loved the Central Coast of California and I will be back. I got a taste of Elephant Seal Beach......
So this is what I have to say about having Dreams.....have them, love them and never give up on them. Over 7 years ago when we took that drive past the Castle and I looked up that mountain yearniing to see what was up there I knew I would be back. I was back.
Big Sur, Cambria, Solvang and Morro Bay. It was just a taste but now I have whole new dreams to add to the list. You have not seen the last of me Central California!!
“Thank you....the greatest way to make your blessings count is to count your blessings. Acknowledging the good things you already have in your life is of the essence, because whatever you appreciate and give thanks for will grow stronger in your life."
i was there about 5 years ago. It was truely amazing, loved the bus ride up the mountain , the 30's music play
playing.

I had wanted to see the wine cellar Kay but wanted to see the Library more and his office space. Amazing all the things he did in his life.
