I am beyond blessed in my life with so many great friends. Friends I have known since high school, my days at MSU, from my neighborhood from Brighton, Michigan..friends who I were pregnant at the same time, and shared those toddlers all the way to my girls who I could not see my life without. People come into your life and leave an imprint on your soul. Your best girlfriends are the ones who through thick and thin have your back, lend you a shoulder to cry on, pour a stronger drink when times warrent it and make you laugh until you pee your pants (yes, over 40 that seems to happen more often than I care to admit). When you have those friends in your life you don't always know how to tell them just how much they mean to you.
I am blessed in that I have friends who are more than honest, keep me grounded and even when I want them to blow smoke up my rear they do not. Last month I was fortunate to have a girl's weekend with three of those non-rear-end-smoke-blowing friends........
It is hard to get four busy moms away all at one time but we all needed it and figured out families could deal without us for two days. Tina invited us to "rough" it in the mountains in Idyllwild, CA. Now this is clearly my idea of roughing it (hey, I did sleep in a sleeping bag! ♥)....
Yes, this camping adventure included shopping in the art-filled town....
and each morning started with a healthy glass of vitamin C......
We took in the mountains.......
Oh my goodness, the sunset just took your breath away....
But more than the accommodations, the good food/drink, and settings was the amazing women that were on this weekend retreat! We took in board games, football, reading, relaxing and yakking, yakking, yakking with TONS of laughing!
Those two days revived our minds and spirits.......
Thank you Tina for your hospitality and my perfect version of "roughing it". May we always make time for this kind of fun! As busy moms we deserve it! (thank you so much to my parents who made this very possible for me!) To all my friends near and far..........I am thankful for each and every one of you!
"Each day I am thankful for nights that turned into mornings, friends that turned into family, dreams that turned into reality, and likes that turned into love" ~Unknown
There is nothing better then taking a few days with good friends to revive the spirit
This looks like my idea of roughing it.
Hope there was chocolate involved-then it would be PERFECT!
Thanks for sharing your pics sweetie
