Today I woke up early to get Tyler to baseball practice by 8:00 am. Little did I know that an hour later we would be in an ER! All it took was one line drive to the head and we were headed to the hospital. UGH! I ran on that field so fast and found him laying on the ground with blood coming out of his nose. It was way scary for both of us! I was comforted to know that at age nine he still "wants his Mommy". I was able to calm him down and we took him off the field. Then it was off to the emergency room where he had a CAT scan. He has a broken nose but his spirit was not broken. Him and I managed to sit in the room and play with buttons and latex gloves which made us both laugh. His ride in the wheelchair was a highlight for him too. He is home and resting and Grandma of course spoiled him with popsicles and all the ice cream he needs. We are thankful that he did not damage any other part of his face. I bet it will be more black & blue tomorrow. Never a dull moment in this house.
Poor Tyler! That looks painful. Good thing you were still there today for him :) and glad Grandma will be there for him while you are gone!

Ouch, ouch, ouch! Poor Tyler. How scary for both of you. Hope he starts feeling better soon (and glad Grandma's there to help spoil him).

Oh, poor Tyler...that had to hurt! Amd poor Tracy for having to see your child hurt...I know you were wishing that you could take the hurt for him! I hope he heals well and that he will feel spoiled and loved by Gradma in the coming days!

Poor kid. You know that had to hurt. Being a boy you know he'll sport those injuries with pride though. Do sure hope he's on the mend quickly. Then lengths these kids will go to to get that extra attention from the parentals and grand parentals! just kidding of course but that extra attention does seem to make it all better and how lucky for Tyler that if this had to happen it was when you were still there and so were the grandparents.
